Mr. Riordan was interviewed at The Met by those at Mortalnet. He talked about the chances of a prequel series about Thalia, Luke and Annabeth.

He talked about his new Camp Half-Blood series, but remained very tight-lipped about the whole thing and he talked a bit about The Kane Chronicles. Anyways, here’s the interview of Mr. Riordan!

Q: What is the time lapse from the end of The Last Olympian to the beginning of the new Camp Half Blood series?
A: It’s not long, I can’t tell you specifically how long but not long.

Q: How many books will there be in The Kane Chronicles series and in the Camp Half Blood series?
A: There will be 3 books for The Kane Chronicles and 5 books for the Camp Half Blood series.

Q: Will The Kane Chronicles and Camp Half Blood series storylines ever cross paths?
A: No, they exist in the same time in the universe, but they won’t cross paths. That would just get too confusing for the readers and me.

Q: Have the film rights been sold for the entire Percy Jackson and the Olympians series?
A: No, only the first book, with Fox’s option to purchase the next book, if they decide to make another film.

Q: In your tweets from Greece, you said you had heard new Greek myths. Will any of those stories be in the Camp Half Blood series?
A: Yes, some of those stories will be in the new series.

Q: Are you planning to write a prequel of the adventures that Thalia, Luke and Annabeth had before they went to Camp Half Blood?
A: Many people have asked me, and I have thought about it, I’m not really sure. Right now I am too busy with the other two series.

Q: We have heard from the publishers that The Red Pyramid will be an estimated 528 pages. Will the Camp Half Blood series be longer books than those in the Percy Jackson series?
A: Yes, they will be. I can’t give you the number of pages, but they will be longer books.

Q: For The Sea of Monsters movie, could you be the screen writer or executive producer?
A: No, when you sign the rights away, all you can do is hope they will take your input, but it is no guarantee they will use it.

Q: Christof, the Webmaster for Mortalnet.com, is really curious about magic in Percy’s world. Is magic only inherited from godly parents, or is it possible to learn magic that you haven’t inherited?
A: Yes, with Hecate being at camp there will be more magic. But most magic is inherent in the gods. However, like Circe in the first series there are witches. Most of the magic will be in forms of enchanted objects or through godly parents.

Q: Will Annabeth and Percy be active in the next series, or will they become akin to the heroic tales of Theseus and Hercules?
A: They will be very active in the new series.

Q: Kronos can not die. Should readers be ready for his return?
A: There are many other forms of evil to throw at them without Kronos. They will face plenty of dangers in new forms.

Q: In The Kane Chronicles, are you handling Egyptian mythology in general terms, or have you chosen a time period in Egyptian history and specific Pharoahs?
A: The mythology will be in general terms.

Q: How did you prepare for The Kane Chronicles?
A: I spent a lot of time reading.

Q: In The Titan’s Curse, you never fully describe Zoe Nightshade. Can you tell us how you imagined her?
A: That ’s a good question. I never really had a fixed image of her in my head.

Q: Do you ever visit your fan sites?
A: No, because I just don’t have the time. My wife does often.

So he hasn’t been gone from the big screen, but he’s certainly in a lot of films coming out! He was Chiron in PJO, he’s also in The Ghost Writer that came out a couple weeks ago, and The Greatest and Remember Me are coming out within the next month.

Here’s an interview that USA Weekend put up with him.

Pierce Brosnan will never be the same – the same debonair international spy known as James Bond he played so iconically in the ’90s. But no matter. Today, Brosnan is a full-time film actor who is busier than ever, juggling four new movies, five children and newfound visibility. “People think if they don’t see you as James Bond, that’s it, you’re retired,” he says. “That I’m still at the table is great.”

In addition to the recent Percy Jackson & The Olympians, he plays an ex-British prime minister in The Ghost Writer, opening nationally this weekend. Coincidentally, Brosnan, who lost his first wife to cancer in 1991 and almost lost his son Sean, now 26, in a car accident in 2000, plays a grieving father in two other films. In Remember Me (opening March 12), he plays dad to Twilight star Robert Pattinson, and in The Greatest (April 2 in New York and L.A.), he’s husband to Susan Sarandon. Recently, we spoke with him:

Q: What Is The Smartest Thing You’ve Done In Your Career?
A: Come to America [in 1982 from Ireland]. America allowed me to have this career and to bring up a family and nurture them. It took many years, but I feel American. I am an American citizen.

Q: What Was The Dumbest Thing?
A: There were a few contracts I should have looked at more closely. I won’t name names. I try not to accentuate the dumbness of life.

Q: Both Remember Me And The Greatest Deal With Family Tragedy. Did You Mine Your Own Life Experience For Those Roles?
A: I play men who were broken by the death of a son. I know what it’s like to deal with the death of a loved one, so yes, I called upon that. And I called upon the near loss of my son. ItÕs good to delve into that part of your life and show it.

Q: Is It Easier For Men To Grow Older Onscreen?
A: I don’t know why society doesn’t find women in their 50s and 60s sexy and adorable. Guys have gotten away with it for a long time! Long may it last.

Q: Do You Ever Have James Bond Dreams?
A: Thank God, I don’t. That would be very sad: ‘Excuse me, doctor, can I see you a moment? I keep on dreaming I’m in a penguin suit, suspended from a helicopter!’

Logan Lerman was recently interviewed by blackbookmag.com about his film and his passion for film making. It’s cool to read about how he wants to do more than acting. He wants to get more into the movie business, like go into directing.

You know, there are some pretty good actors who are also good directors. Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood to name two. I bet we’ll see a lot of Logan’s name attached to more than just acting in the years to come.

Q: How did you first get the acting bug?
A: I’m from Los Angeles and it was accessible. There’s always a place to wait in line for an audition and I kind of begged my parents to take me. My mom nurtured my career and helped me climb the ladder. I have had a passion for movies from a young age. I first got interested in acting when I was probably four or five.

Q: What movies inspired you growing up?
A: Movies like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I remember the first time I saw these movies in the theater and it really got me into filmmaking.

Q: This film is based on a popular book series. Did you read the Percy Jackson books prior to getting the role or once you were cast?
A: I read the book right after I read the script. The first thing that really attracted me to being a part of this film was seeing Chris Columbus’ name right on the title page of the script. I read the script and loved it. Then, I read the book. It was a really backward process.

Q: You play Poseidon’s son. Does Percy feel any pressure living up to his father’s legend?
A: I don’t think that’s even issue for him. For him, his motive the whole time is to get his mom back. Save the world above anything, but get his mom back. I don’t think Percy felt any pressure.

Q: When you are acting in an epic film like this one, or an indie film, do you approach the roles the same way?
A: It’s all about understanding the tone of the film and feeling comfortable enough to experiment on-set and understand your character enough to do so. I approach it the same way every time, but all movies are different. Being a fan of film, you kind-of have an understanding of what this movie is going to be – or whatever movie you’re working is going to be.

Q: What did you learn from Chris Columbus during the making of this movie?
A: I took this chance to really see how these types of films are made, to understand how these big budget fantasy flicks come about. Months before filming, I stayed in the production office during pre-production and studied everyone and the whole process. I also take every movie as a learning experience. I can’t pinpoint specific things, but I learned the process and how great directors like Chris Columbus do their job.

Q: Many people are saying this is going to be the next Harry Potter franchise. How did you deal with the hype and expectations walking into this?
A: I think a lot of people are saying that mainly because Chris Columbus’ name is attached to both films and we are selling it as: “from the director of Harry Potter.” However, they’re different movies. Do we want it to be as successful and as loved the Harry Potter films? Of course, but they’re pretty different stories. This movie is transferring Greek mythology into the modern day. It’s paralleling classic myths and introducing a new demi-god into the modern day world.

Q: What did you find the most difficult part of making this film?
A: The stunts. It was the first time I was involved in a stunt-intensive filming process, so it absorbs a lot of your time. All of your spare time goes into perfecting your stunt work.

Q: What was it like working alongside Pierce Brosnan?
A: Awesome. Pierce is a true gentleman and a really great actor to work with. He’s quiet and perfect. Outside of work, I got to know him personally. He’s such a great guy.

Q: Do you think New York City played an important role in some of the scenes in this movie?
A: The film is about finding adventure in your life. I think New York City is the perfect location for many of the sequences and scenes.

Q: I heard that you applied to NYU.
A: Yes. I did.

Q: Do you know what you’ll study?
A: Creative writing. My real passion is filmmaking. I want to be a filmmaker one day and be involved in writing and directing.

Q: What directors inspire you?
A: Oh, I can go through a whole bunch of them. Just to name a few: David Fincher, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, Spike Jones and Peter Bogdanovich. I can keep going, but you don’t want to hear the whole list.

Q: Since you’re in an empire state of mind, any restaurants you frequent in Manhattan?
A: I haven’t gone out much. I was lucky enough to try Nobu. It was one of the most delicious meals ever! My favorite food has to be sushi.

Q: What advice do you have for young actors starting out?
A: Have perseverance and stick with it. Please don’t be in this business if you’re looking for social gain and popularity. Make sure you have a true passion for movies and enjoy what you do.

Q: What keeps you grounded as a young actor in Hollywood?
A: I keep the same perspective that I’ve always had. That perspective comes from understanding other people’s perspectives around the world that I have seen so far. Keeping true values like family and friends is also important. Also, I keep in mind that my real passion is movie making – the magic that happens when you go into a theater and everything that goes with it. You can get lost in the whole social aspect of being in this business, but I have no interest in it. It’s purely movies to me.

Q: What do you want people to walk away with after watching this film?
A: I want people to be entertained – to lose themselves for two hours and have a good time. If they want to peel away the layers at the end of the film, they will have a lot to talk about. There’s a lot to discover.

For an eighteen year-old actor, Logan Lerman already has quite an impressive body of work. From the critically acclaimed television series Jack & Bobby to indie films like My One and Only and action movies like 3:10 to Yuma, Lerman’s been hitting Hollywood on all fronts. You can now add “epic” to his list of credits. In his newest film, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief, Lerman plays the title character who is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Zeus’ lightning bolt.

Percy embarks on a journey to save his mom and catch the real thief. The movie, directed by Harry Potter helmer Chris Columbus, has an all-star cast that includes Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan and Catherine Keener who plays Percy’s mother. Even though the movie is based on the best-selling teen book series of the same name, Lerman assures us that this is a film for all ages. “This movie relates to people in general,” he says. “It’s about the life struggle of taking your weaknesses and trying to make them into your strengths.”

Brandon was really busy promoting the movie release. As said in the title, on February 11th Brandon was on the Bonnie Hunt Show. He discussed things like how he’s never nervous around the ladies, except for Rosario Dawson.

If you saw it, (we haven’t found a video) Rosario Dawson talked to Jimmy Fallon on his late night show how Brandon walked up to her asking: “Can you be my mentor?” To which she was like, “I’m barely older than you.” Brandon said on this video how what he meant to say was “Can you tell me some things about this industry that I don’t know”. It was also funny how he said that his Mom is always giving him new girls to get married to. And he said how it felt like he’s on some reality show like The Bachelor.

And a thing that just made me laugh was the reference to “The Secret” book and DVD. If you don’t know what it is, it’s basically this thing saying that whatever you say, joking or not, positive or negative, is what you’re going to get. Anyways, you can watch the full interview here:

Brandon T Jackson, who plays Grover Underwood, sat down to talk about The Lightning Thief. Plus, there’s also an exclusive video from USA weekend. The clip setup is Percy talking to Grover (Annabeth in the book) where he’s learning how his ADHD is actually his battle readiness, and so on.

But first, the interview with Brandon:

Q: Is Percy Jackson the most you’ve worked with green screen?
A: I think it is. I did a little with Tooth Fairy, but it wasn’t like this. This has dragons and all that, and I’m a satyr so I had to wear green pants all the time, and they had all the markers and the dots on my legs to make the effect of me being half goat and half man. It’s great when I tell my friends and they’re like, “I don’t get it.” They see the preview and they’re like, “You got them goat legs, dawg. It’s kind of weird.” [Laughs] It’s kind of funny going back to my friends and saying. “Yeah, man, I’m half goat.” They don’t know how to deal with that.

Q: What did you think the first time you saw the special effects and the goat legs?
A: I almost flipped out. My dad thought I was possessed. My dad’s a pastor so he’s like, “Oh, that’s the devil! Them goat legs is the devil!” I was like, “No, Dad. It’s CGI, if you really want to get technical with it, but yeah, you can call it what you want to.” It was cool because I saw it for the first time, and I don’t know how people are going to react to it because it’s so different. It’s set in Brooklyn and it’s normal kids, this high school that’s made for misfits and people who aren’t accepted or who have ADD problems or special learning skills. It’s not set in Narnia or this Harry Potter world of adventure. It’s very modern, very western, very American. It’s a different twist on it.”

Q: Were you familiar with the books at all?
A: Yeah, my sister had the books lying around. When they said they wanted me to look at this part for Percy Jackson, I didn’t know what they were talking about. I asked my sister about it, and she gave me the book, and I thought it was really, really cool.

Q: Your mom’s a pastor, too?
A: She’s more chill. My dad’s the strict one.

Q: Do they enjoy your movies?
A: They’re very exciting about seeing it. Greek mythology is not a big deal to people from Detroit, they don’t really care that much, but at the same time my parents are open and happy. Especially my mom. My mom’s very artistic and crafty. She has a different sense of art. They’re both excited, but my mom especially is really excited to see it.

Q: Of all the movies you’ve done, do they have a favorite?
A: They liked Roll Bounce. Tropic Thunder they liked, but it was too vulgar for them. They thought it was crazy. I think Percy Jackson is going to be their favorite. It’s just one of those movies that everybody can enjoy.

And now the clip from a Camp Half Blood scene:

Logan, Brandon and Alexandra were quickly interviewed by Hollywood Dailies, where they talked about how the fans would just scream the whole time around Logan, and he would be picked up and carried off.

They also talked about how the Twilight fans have a nickname, (Twi-hards I think) and they rattled off a few names for us Percy Jackson fans to be called. They rattled a few like “Pals of Percy”…..no. Then they said “Percy Peeps”……hmmmmm, I think that could work.

What do y’all think? Percy Peeps a good name for us? Anyways, here’s the interview!
