Logan Lerman On Bonnie Hunt

February - 18 - 2010 Comments

Following Brandon T Jackson, Logan was on Bonnie Hunt’s show talking about the film among other things. He talked about working with Jim Carrey, about dating, and how he loves Vietnam War films.

It’s pretty cool; unfortunately, the audio/video sync is a little off, but you can still understand them.

Thanks to logan-lerman.com for putting this up and now, here’s the interview!

Brandon T Jackson Talks To Bonnie Hunt

February - 15 - 2010 Comments

Brandon was really busy promoting the movie release. As said in the title, on February 11th Brandon was on the Bonnie Hunt Show. He discussed things like how he’s never nervous around the ladies, except for Rosario Dawson.

If you saw it, (we haven’t found a video) Rosario Dawson talked to Jimmy Fallon on his late night show how Brandon walked up to her asking: “Can you be my mentor?” To which she was like, “I’m barely older than you.” Brandon said on this video how what he meant to say was “Can you tell me some things about this industry that I don’t know”. It was also funny how he said that his Mom is always giving him new girls to get married to. And he said how it felt like he’s on some reality show like The Bachelor.

And a thing that just made me laugh was the reference to “The Secret” book and DVD. If you don’t know what it is, it’s basically this thing saying that whatever you say, joking or not, positive or negative, is what you’re going to get. Anyways, you can watch the full interview here:

Brandon T Jackson And T-Pain Team Up For PJO

February - 15 - 2010 Comments

Brandon T Jackson talked to MTV about a song he did with artist T-Pain for the Percy Jackson film. He doesn’t know why, but they cut the song at the last second. It’s too bad, it would’ve been cool to hear it. Hopefully it’ll be on the DVD release!! There’s also a quick video of Brandon talking about it. Here you go!

Percy Jackson has a problem. The New York high school student has just discovered he’s the son of Poseidon and is accused of stealing Zeus’ lighting bolt. That bolt is one thing you don’t want to steal because its disappearance will result in a sort of Greek god-led worldwide Armageddon. Thus Percy (Logan Lerman) and his two supernatural buddies, Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) and Grover (Brandon T. Jackson), set off on a cross-country adventure to save the planet.

The journey brings them to Las Vegas, where the trio visit a casino and boogie like mad to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.” But there are two songs you won’t hear in the movie.

“Me and T-Pain, we made a song for the film, and they took it out,” Brandon T. Jackson told MTV News. “At the last minute they cut it out. I don’t know why.”

The scene was set up to be an ensemble dance number, but the footage was left on the cutting-room floor. Jackson is holding out hope the material makes it onto the DVD.

“Trust me, it would have been the Bar Mitzvah song!” he said.

A representative for T-Pain confirmed the collaboration and clarified that they actually laid down two tracks. Jackson and T-Pain, along with Tay Dizm and Young Cash (two artists on T-Pain’s Nappy Boy label) recorded the tunes, but the scenes were ultimately cut. The singer himself declined to comment on the project.

While the T-Pain/Jackson partnership has not yet seen the light of day, Jackson did get to work with another recording artist for a viral video released just days before “Percy Jackson” arrives in theaters on Friday. In the FunnyOrDie video “Dark Moon,” Jackson and Eve present a “Twilight” parody about the untold stories of overly sensitive African-American vampires.

The “Dark Moon” sketch wasn’t the only video Jackson had in the works. He and T-Pain also had plans to shoot a music video for one of the “Percy Jackson” tunes, a video that would have played off Jackson’s character in the movie, a half-man, half-goat deity called a satyr.

“We had the idea for a video, too, where T-Pain was going to be a goat,” Jackson said. “It was gonna be great.”

Brandon T Jackson Is A Goat Man

February - 14 - 2010 Comments

Brandon T Jackson, who plays Grover Underwood, sat down to talk about The Lightning Thief. Plus, there’s also an exclusive video from USA weekend. The clip setup is Percy talking to Grover (Annabeth in the book) where he’s learning how his ADHD is actually his battle readiness, and so on.

But first, the interview with Brandon:

Q: Is Percy Jackson the most you’ve worked with green screen?
A: I think it is. I did a little with Tooth Fairy, but it wasn’t like this. This has dragons and all that, and I’m a satyr so I had to wear green pants all the time, and they had all the markers and the dots on my legs to make the effect of me being half goat and half man. It’s great when I tell my friends and they’re like, “I don’t get it.” They see the preview and they’re like, “You got them goat legs, dawg. It’s kind of weird.” [Laughs] It’s kind of funny going back to my friends and saying. “Yeah, man, I’m half goat.” They don’t know how to deal with that.

Q: What did you think the first time you saw the special effects and the goat legs?
A: I almost flipped out. My dad thought I was possessed. My dad’s a pastor so he’s like, “Oh, that’s the devil! Them goat legs is the devil!” I was like, “No, Dad. It’s CGI, if you really want to get technical with it, but yeah, you can call it what you want to.” It was cool because I saw it for the first time, and I don’t know how people are going to react to it because it’s so different. It’s set in Brooklyn and it’s normal kids, this high school that’s made for misfits and people who aren’t accepted or who have ADD problems or special learning skills. It’s not set in Narnia or this Harry Potter world of adventure. It’s very modern, very western, very American. It’s a different twist on it.”

Q: Were you familiar with the books at all?
A: Yeah, my sister had the books lying around. When they said they wanted me to look at this part for Percy Jackson, I didn’t know what they were talking about. I asked my sister about it, and she gave me the book, and I thought it was really, really cool.

Q: Your mom’s a pastor, too?
A: She’s more chill. My dad’s the strict one.

Q: Do they enjoy your movies?
A: They’re very exciting about seeing it. Greek mythology is not a big deal to people from Detroit, they don’t really care that much, but at the same time my parents are open and happy. Especially my mom. My mom’s very artistic and crafty. She has a different sense of art. They’re both excited, but my mom especially is really excited to see it.

Q: Of all the movies you’ve done, do they have a favorite?
A: They liked Roll Bounce. Tropic Thunder they liked, but it was too vulgar for them. They thought it was crazy. I think Percy Jackson is going to be their favorite. It’s just one of those movies that everybody can enjoy.

And now the clip from a Camp Half Blood scene:

Nice Little Interview Of Logan Lerman On Teen.comTV

February - 13 - 2010 Comments

Every movie release makes a big push the week or two before opening day, so we have already seen several, if not more, interviews, but this one is pretty good. Logan keeps cool under pressure with questions from teen.comTV… good questions in fact.

The interviewer asked about his loooooong underwater scenes and how they pulled it off. As well as, his favorite CGI scene.

Don’t let me spoil it, it will only take a few minutes of your busy day. Enjoy!

Logan On Good Day LA

February - 13 - 2010 Comments

Here’s another quick clip of Logan promoting the President’s Day weekend opening in the U.S. The format of this news interview clip is kinda cool.

Check out the transition from “backstage” to anchor desk – I like it. He’s an actor, so he is supposed to be able to make these shots look natural, but it was particularly smooth IMHO. What do you think?

Percy Jackson Fans Need A Name (Hollywood Dailies)

February - 11 - 2010 Comments

Logan, Brandon and Alexandra were quickly interviewed by Hollywood Dailies, where they talked about how the fans would just scream the whole time around Logan, and he would be picked up and carried off.

They also talked about how the Twilight fans have a nickname, (Twi-hards I think) and they rattled off a few names for us Percy Jackson fans to be called. They rattled a few like “Pals of Percy”…..no. Then they said “Percy Peeps”……hmmmmm, I think that could work.

What do y’all think? Percy Peeps a good name for us? Anyways, here’s the interview!

Logan Lerman On The Today Show

February - 11 - 2010 Comments

Logan Lerman was recently on The Today Show, he talked about Percy Jackson, and he said that his Spider-Man role as Peter Parker is just a RUMOR. He said it’s a role any young actor would love to play, but he hasn’t been seriously asked to be in that movie. Anyways, here you go, Logan Lerman on The Today Show.

Good showing and fun to watch.

Alexandra Daddario Interviewed

February - 9 - 2010 Comments

Alexandra Daddario was recently interviewed by cinemablend. She talked about how her favorite scene was the Hydra scene because that was the first scene they did.

She also said she sent in a tape before for the role, then sent it again because she didn’t get a response the first time. She said how her character is all (kick butt and tough) but also sensitive and funny. I checked imdb.com and found out that the role of Clarisse was not cast, so maybe they’re having Alexandra playing Annabeth as sort of a mix of the two characters.

The interview’s pretty cool, so check it out below:

Cast At The Big Apple Movie Premiere

February - 7 - 2010 Comments

Thursday, February 4th was the date of the premiere for The Lightning Thief. ET has a video of the actors and Chris Columbus talking outside before the film.

Some things I liked was how Chris Columbus said “There are a lot of comparisons with Harry Potter, but that’s how it is with the Fantasy genre. You know, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, with fantasy there’s always the underlying similarity.” (I am quoting from my memory).

On what power they would like Logan Lerman said he would like to control water in real life. Brandon T Jackson said he would like to control water or fire and Kevin Mckidd said he would like to have the ability to teleport. “Because I’m lazy!”

Anyways, here you go, the video of the actors and director talking before the film premiere.
