Kevin McKidd On Poseidon On Good Day NY

February - 6 - 2010 Comments

Kevin McKidd, who portrays the Greek God of the Sea, Poseidon was interviewed on Good Day NY a couple days ago. He talked about how if he could choose a film, TV or stage role, taking out the fame and fortune out of the equation, he would choose to do a play in a small theater.

He talked about how he is ready to do The Sea of Monsters, if they green light it, and he talked about how at the theater for The Lightning Thief premiere, there were a lot of girls screaming, mainly for Logan. Well, here you go, the interview with Kevin McKidd!

Amazing New Sneak Peek Clips (Spoiler Alert)

February - 6 - 2010 Comments

WARNING! SPOILER ALERT! Do not, I repeat, do not watch the clip below if you have a low spoiler threshold… you will see actual leaked footage that will only be available in the theater this coming weekend.

You have been warned, these 8 new The Lightning Thief clips are awesome! They are each about a minute in length, and run back-to-back in the video below. I’m pretty excited about this movie and these clips just make me more excited! These are amazing! Check them out!

Here are the clips:

#1. Percy and Luke fight. (Logan Lerman and Jake Abel)
This is a clip of Luke and Percy atop a roof fighting for the Zeus’ lightning bolt. It’s pretty cool, and is where the international poster of Percy surrounded by water is from.

#2. Medusa and Annabeth (Uma Thurman and Alexandra Daddario)
This is one where Medusa is wearing her glasses and turban, talking to Annabeth with a random woman beside her. Medusa takes off her turban and glasses, and turns the woman into stone but Annabeth kept her eyes closed.

#3. Hydra Fight. (Logan Lerman, Brandon T Jackson and Alexandra Daddario)
This is similar to the clip posted eariler, but it’s much shorter. It’s where the trio are in a museum, and some guys approach them before turning into the Hydra and fight them.

#4. Mrs. Dodds attacks Percy (Logan Lerman, Brandon T Jackson and Pierce Brosnan)
This is from the beginning of the film, it’s where Grover and Percy are on the Yancey Academy field trip learning about Greek Mythology. Mrs. Dodds calls Percy away from the group, then reveals her true nature as a Fury. Chiron then says: “They found him” It’s much shorter than the book counterpart, but in movies they have to cut some scenes short. And it still does the beginning justice.

#5. Meeting Hades. (Logan Lerman, Brandon T Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, Rosario Dawson and Steve Coogan)
This is where Percy, Annabeth and Grover meet Persephone and Hades. This is the first time we see Hades turn into a demon, which he can’t do in the book. The design is somewhat similar to the Balrog from Lord of The Rings. But, I guess once you’re turned into a fiery demon, you look just like every other demon.

#6. Persephone Helps. (Logan Lerman, Brandon T Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, Rosario Dawson and Steve Coogan)
Here Persephone kisses Hades and steals the Lightning Bolt. Then she proceeds to attack Hades with it, saying that if there was a war between the Gods, she would be stuck with him forever. And the only thing she looks forward to is getting out of the Underworld for Springtime. She then gives the bolt to the trio, telling them to take it back.

#7. The Minotaur Attacks. (Logan Lerman and Brandon T Jackson)
This is where Percy, Sally and Grover are driving and the Minotaur attacks them. They crash after it throws a cow at them, cue Grover’s remark “Is it just me or is it raining cows?”. They then crawl out of the flipped over car, and start running. The Minotaur then picks up the car, and throws it into their path.

#8. Escape from the Casino. (Logan Lerman, Brandon T Jackson and Alexandra Daddario)
When they’re in the Lotus Lounge Casino, The Trio realize people are about to get them, so they start fighting, we see Grover use his crutches, pretty cool to see him fight with those. They then get into a car that’s for a sweepstakes and drive off.

New Clips From The Underworld and Lotus Casino

February - 6 - 2010 Comments

movieweb.com has a couple new clips up from The Lightning Thief which, by the way, are amazing! The first is from when Percy, Grover and Annabeth meet Persephone and Hades for the first time. It’s hilarious when they meet Hades, and Grover’s like “You’re Hades? I didn’t expect you to look like this, very stylish.”

Then Hades turns into a demon, asking him if that’s better to which Grover replies: “No! Lets stick with the whole Mick Jagger thing”. The other one is with the Trio in the Lotus Lounge Casino, escaping. Also pretty cool. Personally I like the Underworld scene better, but that’s just me. What do you think?

Logan Lerman On MyFox NY

February - 6 - 2010 Comments

Logan Lerman was on MyFox NY recently in an ongoing push this final week before the movie release. He talked about how he was born in LA, and when he was 4 he talked his parents into standing in line for him to get a role in a film.

They showed a scene where the Minotaur throws Gabe’s car, definitely totaling it. They also showed when Mrs. Dodds attacks Percy and when they’re in the Lotus Hotel escaping. He said he is applying for NYU as he is a senior in high school, and NYU is his first choice.

Well Logan, we’re rooting for you to get your acceptance letter from NYU any day now!

Brandon T Jackson Talks On Lopez Tonight

February - 6 - 2010 Comments

Brandon T Jackson appeared on Lopez Tonight a couple nights ago. He talked about when he got the role for Tropic Thunder a couple years ago that, it being his first movie he was a amazed just being around Jack Black, Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr.

We also get to see a clip of The Lightning Thief which is when Grover is in the car with Percy and Sally, right before we see the Minotaur. Two of the best lines I’ve heard so far. When a cow falls from the sky Grover says “Is it me, or is it raining cows?” and when we find out that Grover has furry legs Percy says “Whoa, whoa, you’re half doggy?” To which Grover replies “I’m half goat”. Haha, awesome.

He also talked about how he can talk to girls on the street easily, but it was hard to talk to Rosario Dawson. He tried saying something in Spanish like “hey, can I get your phone number?” instead he said something like “I’m in love with your phone” haha. Then George Lopez taught Brandon a phrase in Spanish that translated means “You’re beautiful, and I’m half goat.”

Pierce Brosnan On The Today Show

February - 6 - 2010 Comments

Pierce Brosnan was on the Today Show a couple days ago talking about movie and his role. He talked about how the filming went, he had to wear blue tights during filming so they could make the Centaur look.

It’s pretty cool, and it’s great to watch our favorite actors dig into their experience with PJO too. Check it out below!

The Lightning Thief Cast Press Conference In Athens

February - 3 - 2010 Comments

This is a good one. I appreciate the depth that Chris Columbus shares in each answer in this press conference interview in Athens. Again, there is more talk about 2nd and 3rd or even 5 installments of the book series as movies, so be sure to get out on the first weekend, see the movie and take a friend or two.

All misrepresentations of the book that we know to be in the movie aside, this is still one of the best themed movie(s) to see because it actually can direct kids of all ages, even adults, to research and learn more about mythology and related subjects. And of course, we can’t forget our good friend, Rick Riordan, who will likely see another solid spike in book sales immediately following opening weekend.

Enjoy the video!

Cast Interview Atop The Acropolis And Hydra Scene

January - 30 - 2010 Comments

Logan, Alexandra, Brandon and Jake were in Greece a couple days ago and had an interview overlooking the Acropolis! Some points were that Brandon is the only one with a twitter account. Follow Brandon on Twitter by clicking here.

Alexandra visited Greece once before three years ago, and is the only one of the four to do so. (Well, the only one until this interview) Alexandra was cast a bit late, she only had a couple weeks of training. Brandon to play Grover had green tights on, and had to run on his “tippy toes”.

Also, you can download the Movie Score by Christophe Beck on February 8th. All in all, a great interview, it’s about 17 minutes long. “Wait a second! But the video is 19 minutes long!” You are correct. The Last couple minutes is an exclusive look at the Hydra scene not from the book! Enjoy!!

There are two videos, one is the interview plus the Hydra scene, and the second is exclusively the Hydra scene. Both are amazing!

Brandon T Jackson On The View With The Bay

January - 14 - 2010 Comments

Brandon T Jackson was recently interviewed by ABC The View With The Bay. They included a clip from Percy Jackson that looks like when they escape from the Lotus Hotel in Las Vegas. He said how it’s a movie that anyone can enjoy, which I bet since the book was amazing! Be sure to check out the interview below!

A favorite children’s book comes to life on the big screen. Meet one of the film’s rising stars!

Fox’s “Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief”

The film is based on the popular children’s book series read in classrooms as a fun way to learn about Greek mythology – it will be released on Feb 12 (Presidents Day weekend)

About Brandon T. Jackson:

Brandon T. Jackson is a multifaceted young actor carving his own path in Hollywood. Earning critical praise at every stop, he started out in stand-up and has evolved into a burgeoning young film star.

In February, Jackson will star in FOX 2000’s blockbuster franchise “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.” He will take on the role of the satyr Grover Underwood, the best friend and protector of Percy Jackson.

In August, Jackson will star in “Lottery Ticket” for Warner Bros. He will co-star with Bow Wow in this comedy about surviving a long weekend in the projects with a winning lottery ticket.

Also this winter, Jackson appears in Twentieth Century Fox’s “Tooth Fairy,” a family comedy starring Dwayne Johnson. Jackson is perhaps best known as “Alpa Chino” from the high-concept comedy “Tropic Thunder.”

He co-starred with Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black in the runaway hit for Paramount. The role earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination from the Black Reel Awards and Daily Variety named him one of “10 Comics to Watch.”

Jackson won Black Reel’s 2006 Best Breakthrough Performance award for his part in “Roll Bounce” for FOX Searchlight. Jackson’s talent for entertaining was apparent early on. By the age of 14, he was performing at his father’s church and was soon invited to perform at the famed “Showtime at the Apollo” and BET’s “Comic View.”

From there, Jackson and BET launched the “Teens of Comedy Tour,” showcasing the nation’s funniest teen comedians. He also hosted the “Up Close and Personal Tour,” featuring Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and Lil Wayne. Jackson would later host his own sketch comedy special, “The Brandon T. Jackson Show,” on The N Channel and was a series regular on Nick Cannon’s MTV sketch comedy show “Wild ‘N Out.”

Jackson grew up in Detroit with seven siblings and parents who were both pastors. He credits his sense of humor to both his father and his life straddling the fence between suburbia and the inner city. He now lives in Los Angeles.
