I think everybody who is putting exclamation marks in their comment is over-reacting. It's a movie. What do you expect? If they did it exactly like the book it would've been like 3 hours long. It already said at the very top of the page that the movie cost 95 million and they only made like 28 million off of it. Very underwHELMing. (Haha get my joke there?) =P Anyway, I would've like the movie to stick to the books too. Especially since it's part of two series now. But they didn't do it that way. And everybody who's mad is just gonna have to get over it. It said they're not gonna make a sequel if everybody hated the first one. Personally, I would like to see what they would do if they made a second one. If you do too you should stop. And you people who are complaing so much, why don't you try to make a movie yourself, huh??

As much as they did alter the book to fit their views for the movie, it still made a great movie, ya it could have been a lot better if they kept closer to that which was in the book, but i say keep the movies coming just adjust what has to be done now because of the first movie and try to keep it closer to the book. If that is done i would expect the movies would get a lot better, and i look forward to the rest of the series if they were to produce them.

Let's face it, the Percy Jackson book series was amazing, awesome and totally unique! Something as original as that it difficult to reproduce, especially into a movie. The author, Rick Riodan created very in-depth characters. Sure they didn't match the book's visual image or personalities EXACTLY, but that doesn't mean that the movie didn't also have interesting characters! The movie was very entertaining. The books were also entertaining. Of course, us Percy Jackson book series lovers, might be put off that not all the characters were involved (or even present in some cases). But that could/can easily be fixed if/when they make the second movie. Adding extra details (like the Prophecy of the Seven, Kronos/Tartarus or Thalia & her tree! [LOVE HER] ). I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'm counting on a second movie. It can be better, or it'll just be more of the same (which, let's face it, was pretty good, as good as movies come). Who knows?

ALSO (I know this comment is reallllllllllllyyyyyyy long, sry, but thxxs if your reading it all ) the ages of the characters VS the ages of the actors in the movie, why don't they just arrange it so that all of the quests happen within the next year or two (depending on when they film, and how long i'll take to finish them)? I admit, it's not all that good of an option, but it still is an option.

AND (again i know this is really long)
What about the Oracle? U'know the hippie part in the attic? I would have though that would have merited SOME movie magic. Suspence, mystery, spooky lady in the corner; all perfect for a movie! Am i wrong?

i love all the books . i just hope the can keep up with the story line from the books an not mess around with the charactors .

I love the movie the lightening thief it was the best movie ever I'm a number one fan of Logan Lerman. Thanks for being in the movie u guys and thanks for making it. My friend and I are 15 & 14 years old and we couldn't stop ooing and awing over Logan Lerman he is just sooooo hot. I love u Logan

I was so mad that the movie was completely different than the book. I mean I came out of the theatre thinking: wow everything if the movie was basically wrong. Did they even read the books??? But I would like to see the sequels turned into movies. I feel that if its a really good book or series, like Harry Potter, or ( I know its not a book but) like Avatar, then people wouldn't mind going to watch a 2 or 2.5 hour movie, if it was done right.
